After hypospadias repair your son will often have a small tube (stent/catheter) draining urine into the nappy or a bag, and a dressing. These protect the delicate repair. The team will tell you when the stent will be removed (often about 7–10 days) at the hospital.
Care at home / घर पर देखभाल
- Do not pull or kink the tube. Keep it draining freely; in babies, a double nappy keeps it tidy. / ट्यूब को खींचें या मोड़ें नहीं। इसे खुलकर बहने दें; शिशुओं में दोहरी नैपी उपयोगी है।
- Give all medicines as prescribed — including antibiotics and any medicine for bladder spasm. / सभी दवाएं बताए अनुसार दें — एंटीबायोटिक एवं मूत्राशय की ऐंठन की दवा सहित।
- Keep the area clean; give sponge baths and follow the dressing advice we give you. / क्षेत्र साफ़ रखें; स्पंज स्नान दें एवं ड्रेसिंग की सलाह मानें।
- Encourage plenty of fluids. / खूब तरल पिलाएं।
- Let your child rest; avoid straddle toys and rough play until reviewed. / बच्चे को आराम दें; समीक्षा तक घोड़ी-वाले खिलौने एवं उछल-कूद से बचें।

- The tube stops draining, falls out, or there is no urine in the nappy/bag. / ट्यूब बहना बंद कर दे, निकल जाए, या नैपी/बैग में पेशाब न हो।
- Heavy bleeding, a soaked dressing, severe pain, or fever. / अधिक रक्तस्राव, भीगी ड्रेसिंग, तेज़ दर्द, या बुखार।
