छोटा कद एवं वृद्धि
A child who is much shorter than peers, or whose growth has slowed, should be assessed. Causes range from normal familial patterns to nutrition, thyroid problems, growth hormone deficiency and other conditions. Assessment includes growth charts, bone age and blood tests.
Treatment depends on the cause and may include nutrition, thyroid treatment or growth hormone therapy where indicated.
