Upper GI Endoscopy
ऊपरी जठरांत्र एंडोस्कोपी
Upper GI endoscopy uses a thin, flexible camera passed through the mouth to look at the food pipe, stomach and the first part of the intestine. It helps find causes of vomiting, pain, bleeding, swallowing trouble or suspected swallowed objects, and can take biopsies or treat some problems in the same sitting.
In children it is done under sedation or anaesthesia so the child is comfortable.

ऊपरी जीआई एंडोस्कोपी में मुँह के रास्ते एक पतला, लचीला कैमरा डालकर भोजन-नली, पेट एवं आंत के शुरुआती हिस्से को देखा जाता है। यह उल्टी, दर्द, रक्तस्राव, निगलने में कठिनाई या निगली हुई वस्तु के कारण ढूँढने में मदद करता है, और उसी समय बायोप्सी या कुछ इलाज भी कर सकता है। बच्चों में यह बेहोशी/एनेस्थीसिया में किया जाता है ताकि बच्चे को तकलीफ़ न हो।
